Our ethos
Positive Youth Base is an organisation aimed at
spreading a positive mind set through experiential learning programmes which
are an extension of Life Orientation and creating social consciousness and
educational awareness for the youth.
We believe
that the youth occupies a special place in our social environment; the future
of any society depends on the practical and spiritual moulding of the youth.
Young people in our country are looking for genuine ideas and values which they
can live by.
Youth
is the time of life between childhood and adulthood the inexperience of the
young provides an opportunity for a systematic process of leadership
upbringing. This involves heavy decision making for the youth. What they need
is a point from which to develop a base.
Positive
thinking is a mental attitude that enters into our thoughts, words and images.
Positive thinking is conductive to growth, expansion and success. It’s a mental
attitude that expects good and favourable results it anticipates happiness, joy
and heath. We believe that the future is in the youths hands. Our values are
underscored by 3 key principles integrity, sustainability and Ubuntu.
Our
objectives are to:
1.
Empower
young women in high schools through a positive mindset programme
2.
Create
social awareness
3.
Create
educational opportunities for youths to be acquainted with higher learning
institutions
Our vision is to cultivate an empowered, educated,
self sustaining and socially aware generation. Our mission is laid out by the
words of Nelson Mandela:
“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we
have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will
determine the significance of the life we lead”
Nelson Mandela
